We had a lot of time before our train, so we left our bags in the hotel and took the metro to go visit.
We got off after a few stations and then we went to see the World War 2 memorial and the outside parts of the museum.
We then headed back near the hotel to pick up our bags. We still had a long time to wait, so we waited in the lobby until 5:30 PM. We then went to the hotel restaurant and had big meal.
After that we walked to the train station and then waited some more. Around 10:55 PM the train was finally there.
We headed towards our wagon to find our room, but then we found out that our room was not what we expected. Our travel agency had told us that it was a second class 2-bed room, but it was actually a 4-bed room. We ended up sharing the room with 2 other people. Thankfully the other 2 people in our room were a couple from Ukraine. They didn't speak any English so they kept to themselves. It did come in handy to have them in our room though when we crossed the border into Russia. They were able to explain to the customs agent that we were from Canada and didn't speak Russian.
We were awakened twice for the customs which was a bit annoying, but in the end they just checked our passports and stamped them and didn't check much else.
